Barbara's Fashion Focus

cachetHi and welcome to the October edition.
With daylight saving now upon us it is time to think of wearing all those lovely summer skirts, tops and dresses. We all lead somewhat busy lives and what really minimises the hassles “of what am I going to wear” is planning suitable clothes now for different occasions ahead.
What an exciting month September has been in the fashion world. Air New Zealand fashion week once again has put the put the spotlight on leading New Zealand designers and attracted many international buyers and media to this world class event. Many up and coming designers also get the opportunity to strut their creations on the catwalk. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of skill, imagination and creativity that is shown at the Montana World of Wearable Arts Awards as well.
After recently visiting Paris and London I found our designs and fashions are amongst the best in the world. Our quality is of a much higher standard and affordability is more within the reach of many New Zealanders. The lifestyle in the Bay is more relaxed and our requirements are a little more practical generally.
For the Spring/Summer season, dresses (many with sleeves) skirts, tops and pants often meet the requirement of many occasions. Three quarter pants work well for many ladies and come in a range of styles, fabrics and colours. Mixing and matching gives many more options and therefore maximises our wardrobes.
meredithAn exciting range of colours include cobalt blue, corals, kingfisher, tangerine, raspberry though to light greys blended with natural toning to give that lovely soft look. Stone and ivory mixed is a must for those who enjoy wearing natural tones.
Floral prints play an important role for summer dressing and are available in a huge variety of colours and patterns. Soft flowing silks, cottons, crisp linens, non crushable materials, knits and stretch mixes and more are all there for you to choose from. The availability of many varieties of fabrics ensures that most individual requirements can be met.
Do not leave your visit too late, as choices do become limited but our very friendly experienced staff here at Maison Monique will do their utmost to attend to your needs.

Until next month, dress well and feel great!
